Basically, I plan to rewatch all of Season 5 leading up to the Season 6 premiere on April 23rd. During that time, I wanted to take the values of the Doctor and give help and hope to others. So, I'm taking it episode by episode, which is explained in the next paragraph.

That's what we're gonna do-- Relight the fire, Reboot the universe! |
The plan is to do my Giveback on or around the day I watch that episode. Obviously this won't be perfectly timed because life can get in the way and schedules get all timey wimey, but that's the intent. Once I've done it, I'll post it into the Giveback pages (listed underneath the Episode Guide in the left-hand column) to keep myself accountable. I may even make a comment or two on the episode since it'll be fresh in my mind.
I launched with only three episode guides up, but I am working on the new ones daily. By April 23rd all fourteen episode guides should be up!
My hope is that readers will want to do Givebacks as they rewatch, so I'm encouraging you to comment, comment, comment about givebacks you've done as part of the countdown! I plan to do at least one Giveback per episode, but the point of the Giveback Countdown is to give back, so any amount in any form is awesome.
It should be fun to do and fun to see what others are doing. Geronimo!!!
About Me
My name is Lorena. I am a writer and editor living in the United States Pacific Northwest who loves Doctor Who. I have literally been counting the days until the season 6 premiere.
For my 2011 goals, I decided that I needed to make a serious commitment to my philanthropic endeavors (or, quite truthfully, my complete lack thereof). It's all well and good to say this and think this, but doing it can be more of a challenge since it's such a change of my usual routine. So, to kick my butt into gear, I decided to combine something I love that is already part of my routine with the Giveback idea. Then I made a blog about it to 1) Keep myself accountable, 2) Hopefully inspire others to give back, and 3) Educate myself and others on the realities facing ourselves, our neighbors, and the whole world today.
I would like to take a moment to point out that I have NO affiliation with any of the companies or organizations that I reference or link to and cannot vouch for their accreditation. I also am NOT profiting in any way whatsoever off of this blog and do not plan to be doing so ever. If you see something on here that is incorrect, or you know to be a false charity/organization, please let me know. This is a huge learning/research process for me as I do not know much about the charities/organizations/issues I'm writing about. So all constructive information and advice is completely welcomed and encouraged.
