Givebacks so far

Episode 1: Food Bank Here We Come!

For the first giveback, me and my fiance have signed up to volunteer a shift at the local food bank helping to repack food.

I'll let you know how it goes, but based on previous food sorting and repacking experiences, it should be pretty easy and fun.

Episode 2: I Like To Move It! Move It!

For the second giveback, I decided to "adopt a species" from the World Wildlife Fund for my friend for her birthday present.  We have an inside joke about lemurs (in reference to the movie Madagascar), so that's the animal I got her.

Hopefully she likes it (and doesn't mind finding out way ahead of time what her present is!).  I also sent a letter to my congressmen and the president urging them not to slash environmental funding--which was free to do.

Episode 3: Team River Runner Century Paddle!

For this giveback, I donated a "river mile" to the local Team River Runner's fundraiser for their Century Paddle!  A totally neat event--50 veterans from 50 states paddling down 115 miles of Oregon river and coastline!  The participants and some people from the city are also helping clean up the Sandy River before starting the paddle. So, all around awesome, and I might look into helping with the river clean-up in August.

I think they are still taking registrants if you and someone you know wants to get involved, and of course they are still taking donations.
